Who we are

These terms apply to the Lykyn Shopify store at lykyn.eu (the "store"). The store is operated by Lykyn, operating through its Shopify EU store, [TO CONFIRM: registered legal entity name and registered address]. You can contact us at info@lykyn.com.

About these terms

By visiting the store or placing an order, you agree to these terms. They cover your use of the store and every order you place through it.

These terms are written for consumers buying for personal use. We do not sell to businesses under these terms.

Products and prices

  • We sell the Lykyn Smart Mushroom Grow Box in single-tier and double-tier versions, along with fruiting blocks and accessories. Product descriptions and specifications on the store describe what we sell.
  • Prices are shown in euros (EUR) for EU delivery and in pounds sterling (GBP) for UK delivery. All prices include VAT. The VAT shown at checkout is the VAT for the country you deliver to.
  • Shipping is free on every order, and the price includes import duties and taxes. See our Shipping policy for details.
  • Prices can change at any time. The price that applies is the one shown when you place your order.
  • Product photos are for illustration. Results depend on your room temperature, humidity and the fruiting block you use.

How to place an order

  1. Add the items you want to your basket and go to checkout.
  2. Check your details and the order summary, then place your order. We take payment when you place your order.
  3. We email you an order confirmation with the details of your order. This confirmation does not accept your order.
  4. We accept your order when we send you a dispatch confirmation email. Until then, no contract exists between you and us.
  5. We dispatch your order and send you tracking details.

Payment

We accept these payment methods through Shopify Payments: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Klarna, iDEAL (Netherlands), and Bancontact (Belgium). Which methods appear depends on your country. Your card or bank provider may have its own terms for the transaction.

When we can decline an order

We may decline or cancel an order, for example if a product is out of stock, if your payment fails, or if we suspect fraud. If we do, we tell you and refund any payment we have taken, in full, without undue delay.

Pricing errors

We check our prices, but mistakes happen. If a product is listed at a price that is obviously wrong, and you could reasonably have seen that it was wrong, we can cancel your order. If you have already paid, we refund you in full.

Your statutory rights

Nothing in these terms limits your rights under EU or UK consumer law. This includes your 14-day right to cancel and your legal guarantee. Our Refund and return policy explains how to use them.

Intellectual property

The Lykyn name and logo, product designs, photos, videos, text, and the Grow Box firmware and app belong to Lykyn or its licensors. You may use the store and our products for personal use. You may not copy, sell or modify our content, designs or software without our written permission, except where the law allows it, for example to make the Grow Box work with other software.

Acceptable use

When you use the store, you agree not to:

  • place orders you do not intend to pay for, or give false details
  • try to access our store, accounts or systems without permission
  • copy our product pages or scrape the store at scale
  • send spam or malicious software through the store or our support channels
  • use a Grow Box to grow any organism that the law of your country prohibits

Eating what you grow

Lykyn sells growing equipment and fruiting blocks. We do not give food-safety or medical advice. Cook mushrooms before you eat them, unless you have confirmed that the species is safe to eat raw. Do not eat a mushroom unless you are sure of its identity. If you are pregnant, have allergies, or take medication, speak to a doctor before you eat mushrooms you have grown.

Limitation of liability

We are responsible for loss that is a foreseeable result of our breach of these terms. We are also responsible for defective products under the legal guarantees described in our Refund and return policy.

We do not limit or exclude our liability for:

  • death or personal injury caused by our negligence
  • fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation
  • anything else that the law does not allow us to limit, including your statutory rights as a consumer

Subject to that, we are not liable for loss that is not a foreseeable result of our breach, or for loss caused by using a product in a way the product manual does not allow.

Disputes

If something goes wrong, contact us first at info@lykyn.com. We will try to resolve it with you directly.

If you are an EU consumer, you can bring a legal claim in the courts of the country where you live. UK consumers keep their rights under UK law. For independent advice on a cross-border purchase, EU consumers can contact the European Consumer Centres Network (ECC-Net). UK consumers can contact Citizens Advice.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of [TO CONFIRM: jurisdiction of Lykyn's registered office]. This does not remove any mandatory consumer protection in the country where you live.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If a change is significant, we tell you by email before it takes effect. Changes do not apply to orders you have already placed.

Other terms

If any part of these terms cannot be enforced, the rest of the terms still apply.
