About Lykyn

Lykyn builds the countertop chamber that grows gourmet mushrooms on its own.

We started Lykyn after watching too many first-time mushroom growers quit by their second flush. Wet towels. Daily misting. Tent builds that take over a bedroom. The hobby looked lovely in a Netflix documentary and chaotic on a kitchen counter. We thought a mushroom should be as easy to grow as a cup of coffee is to make.

What we make

The Lykyn Smart Mushroom Grow Box is a sealed countertop chamber tuned for eight gourmet species: pink oyster, blue oyster, black oyster, golden oyster, lion's mane, shiitake, cinnamon cap, and pioppino. Inside sit four coordinated systems:

• An ultrasonic humidifier that keeps the fruiting-body sweet spot.
• A paired intake and exhaust fan array that exchanges fresh air on each species' schedule.
• A species-tuned LED array that fires the light spectrum mycelium reads as day.
• An onboard sensor loop that reports back to your iPhone or Android app.

You load a colonized fruiting block, close the door, refill the 2.8-litre water reservoir once, and harvest in 5 to 14 days. No substrate mixing. No sterilisation. No guesswork.

Why mushrooms

A kingdom of its own. Not plant, not animal. Mushrooms produce lion's mane for your dinner, pioppino for your risotto, and shiitake with the aroma a dried version cannot match. They fruit in a week or two, use a modest amount of water, and ask for almost nothing in return. We think they belong on every kitchen counter.
